This campfire-style Sloppy Joe is a hearty, smoky twist on a classic! The addition of baked beans takes it to the next level, bringing back nostalgic campfire flavors. Made on the Char-Griller Dual-Fuel Pro, this easy and delicious meal is perfect for backyard grilling or an open-flame adventure.

Instructions

  1. 01

Preheat the Char-Griller Dual-Fuel Pro to medium-high heat for direct cooking over charcoal or gas.

  2. 02

Place a cast iron skillet on the grill and cook the ground beef with onion, bell pepper, and garlic for 6-8 minutes, stirring occasionally. Cook until the beef is browned and vegetables are soft. Drain excess fat if needed.

  3. 03

Stir in the barbecue sauce, ketchup, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, and chili powder. Mix well to coat the beef in the sauce.

  4. 04

Add the baked beans and stir to combine. Let simmer over low heat for 10-15 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.

  5. 05

Scoop the Sloppy Joe mixture onto toasted burger buns. Optional: Sprinkle shredded sharp cheddar cheese on top.

  6. 06

    Serve hot and enjoy!
