Easy Salmon Recipe on Flex Fuel Gas & Charcoal Combo Grill

Looking for big flavor without the long cook time? Ambassador Marc Martin delivers with this quick salmon recipe, grilled to perfection on the gas side of the Char-Griller Flex Fuel combo grill, which is a dual fuel grill that gives you the best of both worlds - both gas and charcoal in one convenient grill.

"If you have young kids, quick and easy is often a welcome phrase when it comes to cooking. The Flex Fuel gas side is the perfect tool for those times whether it's weeknight cooking, you're short on time, or you're just plain tired. Salmon is one of my preferred proteins to cook to when breaking in a new grill, but it's also just another excuse to have one of our favorite meals." - Marc

This recipe uses Mesquite Lime Seasoned Sea Salt from FreshJax but you can use any of your favorite mesquite and lime seasoning. This easy salmon recipe was also paired with grilled asparagus cooked to a nice snap with a hint of char.

"Although not required, if you do have time the night before, pat the salmon filet dry and slice into portions. Apply seasonings to the flesh and set on a tray with rack in the fridge overnight to dry brine" - Marc

The smoky bite of mesquite, the bright zing of lime, and the punch of garlic come together to create a light yet bold dish that’s perfect for weeknights or weekend cookouts. Fire up the Flex Fuel Gas and Charcoal Grill, turn up the heat, and get ready for flavorful salmon in no time!

Instructions

  1. 01

If you have time the night before, pat the salmon filet dry and slice into portions. Apply seasonings to the flesh and set on a tray with rack in the fridge overnight to dry brine. If you don't have time for overnight brine, you can still apply the seasoning as normal.

  2. 02

When ready to cook, lightly oil the grates and set the burners for medium-high.

  3.

  4. 03

Keep the lid open during this entire cook.

  5. 04

Sear the sear salmon, skin side up for a few minutes.

  6.

  7. 05

Flip the salmon over, turn the burners down to medium-low.

  8. 06

Allow salmon to cook for about 15 min until you see some of the white fat begin to come out. The skin will protect the salmon from burning and also become a crispy treat.
